July, 7 – 13
For the first time in history the greatest harp world festival debuts in Asia in Hong Kong, “The Pearl of the Orient”, from July 7-13 at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). Organized every three years and lasting only one week, the (13th) World Harp Congress is the year’s most eagerly-anticipated international event dedicated to harps, attracting 800 harpists from 50 countries. The program encompasses a closely spaced succession of master classes, concerts and conferences together with the prominent space dedicated to Focus on Youth – a section where harpists under 22 years of age will have the opportunity to perform before an audience consisting of the best harp players and learn from their judgment.
Not only is it a unique gathering of the best artists, pedagogues, academics and composers of the harp world with a display of meetings dedicated to sector experts, but it will also cast a glance over the world’s rising talents panorama.
For Salvi Harps the event, announced as “A Harp Journey from West to East”, will be a great show case for a first preview of its new products that will certainly raise both the audience and experts’ interest.
